My friend and I are going on a vacation to Sri Lanka and we opted to extend our stopover in Malaysia for three days. I am really excited as I have never been there, but it looks like there is a ton for us to see and do in such a short amount of time. I was thinking of the Batu Caves, the Mega Sale, Chinatown, and Penang…which may be squeezing in too much! So I would love suggestions of the "must see" from those who have traveled to or are living in Malaysia. Thanks!
As a Malaysian, I feel there is nothing much to do unless if you are a fanatic shopping freak. With the 3 days, just stay around town to shop till you drop. You can try the Batu Caves, if you want. Remember to put on a pair of good walking sneakers that will not slip. Go KLCC to do more shopping. Don't visit the museum. Can visit the bird and butterfly park. Chinatown is a must go.
If you are a beach bum, 3 days will not be enough because it will probably take half a day to reach a beautiful beach and another half day back to KL. Actually it is the best time to go beaching now because of the not-monsoon-season. We have one of the best beach is South East Asia. Mostly located on the East side of Peninsular Malaysia. White sandy beach. Crystal clear water. Lovely sunny weather. Almost pretty lively marine life.
